Bypass Project Continues with New Bridge Construction
WINFIELD – The Daily Item reports….Construction will soon begin on a bridge that will carry the Southern Section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Thruway over Grangers Road. PennDOT says beginning Monday July 15th, they will begin setting bridge beams on Grangers Road and motorists can expect the road to be closed in 15-minute intervals while the beams are being set. The work will take about a week to complete. The Daily Item reports….Work also continues on three other structures throughout the project area. Beams will be set in late July on the two structures that will connect the CSVT to Route 61 in Shamokin Dam.

County Hall Corner: County Government on the Move
A new day is coming. The Lycoming County Commissioners had their last weekly meeting at the Lycoming County Executive Plaza at 330 Pine Street in Williamsport on Thursday, June 27th. The following Thursday will be July 4th, so obviously, there will not be a meeting that day. Still, the following Thursday, July 11th, will be the ribbon-cutting for the new county government headquarters — Third Street Plaza, directly across the street from the Lycoming County Courthouse.
