Man charged after allegedly killing black bear
LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. — A Lycoming County man faces a slew of charges after he allegedly killed a black bear. According to police, Shawn Zimmerman shot the animal outside his home near Williamsport last week. Court paperwork says Zimmerman was uncooperative with police when they arrived at his home.

Shamokin Couple Charged with Assaulting Another Couple with Bats
SHAMOKIN – The News Item reports…A Shamokin couple has been charged with assault following a fight Saturday morning on East Cameron Street in Shamokin. Police say 38-year-old Stephanie Tinley swung a baseball bat at another woman several times, hitting her in the back and elbow. Her boyfriend, 40-year-old Robert Shaffer, is accused of smashing the windshield of another man’s vehicle with another baseball bat. Tinley and Shaffer were arraigned and released from Northumberland County Jail after posting bail.

Lawrence J. Handlovic, 34, walked into Pocono Pistol at 85 North 1st Street on July 4, said police. He rented a 9mm Glock handgun, used the indoor shooting range, then fled with the gun through an emergency exit, according to investigators. The hearing will be held on July 31 at Bethlehem City Hall. US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has rescheduled a hearing to take public comment on the renewal of the Category 2 Slot Machine Operator Licence for Wind Creek Bethlehem casino, Northampton County. It will be held at the Bethlehem City Hall on July 31. A severe storm which knocked out electricity at Bethlehem City Hall forced the cancellation of the previously scheduled hearing on June 26.
