Raising a stink – BG residents ask city to rethink decision to discontinue animal control position
The lack of an animal control officer in Bowling Green really stinks – literally – in some neighborhoods populated by skunks. A couple residents of the Village subdivision came to City Council Monday evening to share their dismay over wild critters in their neighborhood. Alex DiPuccio and Nancy Eidson asked that the city reconsider the decision to no longer employ an animal control officer.
Multiple fire departments respond to barn fire in Miamisburg
MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WKEF) -- Fire crews were on the scene of a barn fire in Miamisburg, on Thursday afternoon. According to Montgomery County Dispatch, crews received reports of a fire at 8751 S Union Rd. at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 8, 2024. The crews that arrived on scene were Miami Valley Fire District, Germantown, Farmersville, New Lebanon, West Alexandria, Gratis, Jefferson, Calisle and Madison Township.

The Subway on West Main Street in Xenia has permanently closed, according to a sign from management on the door of the business. There also was a letter from Mark L. Rodio of Frantz Ward LLP, a law firm based in Cleveland, giving Subway franchisee Kyle Young a three-day notice to leave the premises.
