2 Waterloo police officers are shot; suspect is shot and killed in Sunday morning incident
Two Waterloo Police Department officers were shot Sunday morning, and police shot and killed the man involved, according to a police department news release. Police had responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 200 block of Manson Street at about 8:22 a.m., police said. The shootings happened in the 1200 block of East Fourth Street. It's unclear how the shootings unfolded, but the release said the man was declared dead at the scene.

GRUNDY CENTER – Roughly 100 people turned up Monday evening at the Grundy Center Community Center for a town hall/special session regarding the looming possibility the city council may soon disband its local police department due to budget constraints and instead contract with the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office for services.
