NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A 20-year-old member of New Haven’s Exit 8 gang could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Quaymar Suggs pleaded guilty on Monday to conspiracy to engage in a pattern of racketeering activity, according to an announcement Tuesday by Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

The gang deals drugs, stole vehicles and has killed at least three people, and attempted 16 others, since June 2018.

As part of his plea, Suggs admitted to dealing drugs, selling guns and fatally shooting a rival gang member in May 2021. He also broke into a Connecticut State Police trooper’s car and stealing their duty bag.

Suggs has been in custody since March 2023. A sentencing date has not been announced.
