FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The City of Fort Wayne shares that westbound lanes on a block of Lake Avenue will be closed starting Monday for City Utilities work. On Monday, July 22, westbound lanes on Lake Avenue will be closed for one block between North Anthony Boulevard and Garfield Street while City Utilities crews work around a water transmission main under Lake Avenue.

Write a Thank You Letter To a Veteran
FORT WAYNE — Honor Flight Northeast Indiana is hosting Operation Mail Call, an opportunity to write a thank you letter to a veteran. The letters will be given to the 85 veterans during the honor flight from the nation’s capital back home to Fort Wayne, after visiting memorials in Washington D.C. The organization aims to deliver at least 10 letters to each veteran.
Wayne Township hosts free veterans resource fair July 24
The Wayne Township Trustee’s Office and the nonprofit organization Veterans Resource Team will hold a free resource fair for veterans July 24. The free fair will teach veterans about the types of benefits they are eligible to receive, such as educational benefits through the Post-9/11 GI Bill, Veterans Affairs home loans, life insurance and new health benefits available through the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act of 2022, known as the PACT Act.
