Saint Augustine's University board seeks dismissal of alumni lawsuit
The Saint Augustine’s University Board of Trustees is trying to stop a lawsuit filed by the alumni organization Save SAU Coalition and two former board members. RALEIGH – Four “Living Legends” closed out the Contemporary Art Museum’s Juneteenth observance with humor and history to celebrate paths traveled and journeys to come. The panel included Dudley Flood, retired associate superintendent of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, who was a vital leader in integrating the state’s public schools during the 1960s and 1970s. He has collaborated with education leaders in 48 states. The Dudley Flood Center for Educational Equity and Opportunity is named in his honor.

RALEIGH — The National Association of Black Accountants singled out Lynette I. Wood, Ph.D., with the Earl S. Biggett National Achievement in Education Award during its annual convention in Las Vegas in June. The award acknowledges her excellence, dedication and leadership within the field of accounting education. Wood is the dean of the Shaw University School of Business and Professional Studies, where she also is a professor of accounting.

The Manufacturers’ Representatives Council, a community of the Auto Care Association, announced Michael Wamsley of N.A. Williams Company as this year’s Leadership 2.0 scholarship recipient.
