Billionaire’s wife breaks social media silence after trying to bully woman with same last name for her Instagram handle

The wife of a Pennsylvania billionaire heir who abruptly quit Instagram after her private messages to a woman with the same name were exposed has resurfaced on the social media platform.
Katherine Asplundh, who seemingly deleted her prized Instagram account in May, posted several snaps from her brother-in-law, Carl’s, wedding with his long-time partner Savanna Smith on Saturday.
“Special day celebrating @carl48 and @savanna_smith5,” Asplundh posted to her Instagram story along with a picture of the kissing newlyweds.
In two subsequent slides, Asplundh flaunted around in a multi-colored dress posing around a grassy yard.
The wedding took place at the Hotel Du Village in New Hope, Pennsylvania, according to pictures posted by the bride and tagged with the location.
The Asplundh family owns the Asplundh Tree Expert Co. in Pennsylvania, which is the 109th largest private company in America with a revenue of $5.42 billion in 2023, according to Forbes.
After the wedding, Savanna was seemingly able to change her Instagram handle from @savanna_smith5 to her new name @savanna_asplundh — something Katherine wasn’t able to do herself.
Katherine Asplundh, formally Driscoll, married 27-year-old tree service heir Cabot Asplundh on April 27 and wanted to make the celebration Instagram official and change her name on the platform to match her new legal name.
But as the desired handle @katherineasplundh was already taken, she went out and messaged the account’s owner about purchasing the handle.
“Hi just wondering if I could purchase your username from you. Just got married and this is my new name,” the newly read wrote, according to screenshots of the conversation posted to the NYCInfluencesnark sub-Reddit.
After being told no by the real Katherine Asplundh, who goes by Kate, an irritated Driscoll Asplundh argued that Kate’s name wasn’t Katherine Asplundh, and that she would be reported.
“I actually don’t believe that your name is Katherine Asplundh who would make their finsta their actual name? I reported you to Instagram and they’re actually able to tell me your real name I really hope I don’t know you because that’s gonna be really embarrassing for you.”
After a second her second failed attempt, the entitled influencer searched the name “Katherine Asplundh” on Facebook, and concluded that she must be the only one with the name in America when she didn’t find any results.
“The family I just married into is the only Asplundh in America.”
“I’m not American,” Kate responded.
Asplundh shut down her account after other users mercilessly mocked her and created multiple accounts with different variations of the account handles she had and sought.
Along with the reactivation of her Instagram account, Asplundh also returned from a monthlong hiatus from TikTok on Saturday.
The new posts featured a daily routine video, horse riding ASMR, and Asplundh modeling the “fun dress” she wore to her brother-in-law’s wedding.
