When Aaron Rodgers decided to miss some of New York Jets minicamp, he knew the repercussions of his decision.

The 40-year-old signal-caller was fined over $50,000 for his absence and begrudgingly thrust into the spotlight to answer for his actions. Speaking to reporters at training camp on Wednesday, Rodgers cleared the air about the situation and where he stands with head coach Robert Saleh.

“I'm an adult, I knew what I was getting into, I knew what the fine would be,” Rodgers told reporters . “…I knew the consequences if I wasn't going to be there,” “The reaction is what it is. … I made it a point to be at every OTA, I was at the physical day as a part of the minicamp ... [and I] had talks with all my teammates about it.

“I think they all understood it was more of an issue outside the building than it was inside the building. Robert and I are great. ... I'm an adult. I knew what I was getting into. I knew the fine that was coming. I also knew how much I wanted to be in Egypt. I wish there hadn't been a conflict schedule-wise, but it was what it was.”

Rodgers admitted that he talked the situation through with his teammates, who seemed to understand his position, as well as Saleh, who he implied harbors no hard feelings about his unexcused absences.
