New Lebanon’s Cunnagin Gets the Win at Phoenix Bass Fishing League Event at Ohio River-Tanners Creek
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (July 1, 2024) – Boater Jamie Cunnagin of New Lebanon, Ohio, caught a five-bass limit weighing 12 pounds, 2 ounces, Saturday to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League (BFL) Presented by T-H Marine on the Ohio River at Tanners Creek. The tournament was the third event of the season for the BFL Buckeye Division. Cunnagin earned $5,082 for his victory.

Thai 9 expands hours, now open for lunch on weekends
Thai 9 in Dayton’s Oregon District is expanding its hours starting this weekend. The restaurant, located at 11 Brown St., will now be open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting July 6. To celebrate, those who purchase two entrees from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday will receive a free order of crab rangoon.

Springboro natives Brianna and Jordan Joo found themselves in desperate need of a date night after a miscarriage in 2018. They wanted to go to a brewery to talk, but didn’t have a babysitter for their daughter. They had joked that someone needed to open a brewery in the Dayton area with an indoor playground, but over the next couple of months they realized they should be the ones to do it.

Dayton Art Institute opens newly renovated outdoor garden space
The Dayton Art Institute has completed renovations on its outdoor garden space in front of the museum known as the Velsey Garden. Named after the artist Seth M. Velsey, a former educator at the DAI School, whose three stone statues are featured prominently in the space, the Velsey Garden is located to the left of the museum’s main entrance.
