Woman shot, killed in New Orleans East

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — A woman was shot and killed overnight in the New Orleans East area.

The New Orleans Police Department reported the shooting was called in around 11:02 p.m. on Thursday, June 27. It was initially reported that the shooting happened in the 7800 block of Wales Street, but that location was later changed to the 7800 block of Bass Street.

The 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene by New Orleans EMS.
