Bourbon Street double shooting lands pair in hospital

For the second time in less than 24 hours, the New Orleans Police Department is investigating a shooting in the French Quarter. This time, two people are in the hospital after a Sunday night incident on Bourbon Street.

According to an NOPD spokesperson, the shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Bourbon near St. Peter Street.

The spokesperson says two people suffered body wounds. EMS crews took those victims to a hospital. Authorities did not disclose the victims’ conditions.

This shooting comes about 15 hours after a woman was shot and killed while sitting in her car about a block away near the corner of St. Peter and Royal Streets. Police have not released any further details about that case.
