Court documents state that, on Dec. 13, 2013, Ryesha Arbuthnot was found fatally stabbed and shot in the parking lot of a New Orleans apartment complex. The documents state police later found her mother, Lisa Arbuthnot, fatally shot inside an apartment.

OPDA Homicide Unit Chief Matthew Derbes said in a news release that Jones and Wisham were arrested in 2021 after a witness came forward.
