New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr makes bold statement about Taysom Hill before 2024 season

The New Orleans Saints may use Taysom Hill as their top tight end under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. With Juwan Johnson currently out with an injury, training camp and the preseason will decide the depth chart at the position.

Saints quarterback Derek Carr does not lack respect or confidence in Hill as an overall weapon on offense. He understands Hill's value to the team, calling him a potential Hall of Famer.

Derek Carr calls Taysom Hill the best football player he's played with

“Taysom’s the best football player I’ve ever played with..."

That's no small title for Taysom. Carr has played with the likes of Davante Adams, Maxx Crosby, Cameron Jordan, and Alvin Kamara - just to name a handful. Carr clearly sees the work that Hill puts in to have an impact at almost every level of the Saints attack, as a team.

Taysom Hill's versatility is special

He plays special teams snaps, catches passes, scores touchdowns, and blocks for his teammates, plus even more, as an NFL veteran. There's not one player quite like Hill around the league.

“He can do everything. Throws, runs, catches, fullback, quarterback, tight end, receiver in the slot, blocks punts, personal protector. Just because of how stats work, I don’t know how the stats work, but that man is a Hall of Fame player."

It's nice to see the veteran QB give a special nod to his teammate, whose work ethic can never be doubted. I'm sure Hill will appreciate it as well.

Taysom is even taking some fullback reps during practice in the team's new offense. It's clear that the new play-caller understands his value, too.

Expect the two to connect for many touchdowns in 2024. Hill projects to be an important piece to the Saints offense under Kubiak.
