New Orleans Saints HC Dennis Allen 'not losing sleep' about star player's latest injury during training camp

The New Orleans Saints have had some injuries come across their roster so far during training camp . That's to be expected. Luckily, most of them have not been of the serious worry type.

That sounds like the case for the most impactful one of training camp so far for New Orleans.

Lattimore left practice last week with a hip flexor injury.

Lattimore missed a chunk of time last season due to injury. He's played in just seventeen games total over the past two seasons. His availability has been an issue, but he came into training camp healthy and ready to dominate.

Now, he will have to get over this ailment before returning to the practice field. He was not out there on Monday to begin padded practices.

Allen hopes that Lattimore can return sooner than later for the defense.

He's concerned because it is another injury to his most talented cornerback. That being said, it is a good sign that he is not losing sleep over the injury.

That'd be a problem, both for Allen and New Orleans. Their defense cannot reach its ceiling without the top CB on the field. Lattimore was impressive during practice last week before sustaining the hip injury late in the week, according to reports.

We will see when he can get back out there at 100% for the Saints. They should not rush him back.

Bryan Bresee and Nick Saldiveri are also dealing with injuries. The Saints placed Justin Herron on injured reserve this weekend.
