The New Orleans Saints got to unveil some fantastic news on Wednesday. One of their most beloved offensive players in franchise history will get a unique honor this year.

Saints set to induct Jahri Evans into team's Ring of Honor

The former offensive lineman will be inducted into the Ring of Honor during the Saints' November 17th game against the Cleveland Browns.

Evans was a five-time All-Pro selection, a six-time Pro Bowler, and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2010’s All-Decade Team. He also won the Super Bowl in 2009 with New Orleans. Evans is a current Saints assistant coach as well.

You can argue that Evans or Willie Roaf is the greatest offensive lineman in Saints franchise history. Both were consistently dominant.

“During his 11-year playing career as a Saint, Jahri Evans established himself as one of the greatest Saints of all-time and we are thrilled to add him to the Ring of Honor."

"Jahri was a true professional, a student of the game and a phenomenal teammate, who led our team and our historic offense with his excellence along the offensive line. The battles that Jahri won up front played a pivotal role in us celebrating some of the most memorable moments in our franchise’s history."

-- Saints owner Gayle Benson in a news release

Evans has as good of a case as anybody to eventually make the Hall of Fame. He was one of the most dominant guards of his era, the anchor of an offensive line that routinely protected quarterback Drew Brees. He started every game he appeared in (183) and didn’t miss a contest through his first seven seasons. -- nola.com

Evans was a finalist for the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame class . He was not selected in his second year of eligibility, but he is well on his way to joining that prestigious group, too.
