The New Orleans Saints are bringing back a name that many fans will know. Recent injuries during training camp have forced their hand, and they know one of their latest additions quite well.

    Saints sign Marquez Callaway

With the move, they waived tight end Tommy Hudson.

This is the third stint with the black and gold for the veteran wideout. Callaway first joined the team as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2020.

He left in free agency in 2023, following Sean Payton to the Denver Broncos. Callaway spent time on the Saints' practice squad in 2023. Now, he is back to try to grab roster spot once again.

Callaway, 6-2, 204, was originally signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2020 out of Tennessee and in 45 regular season games with 17 starts for New Orleans (2020-23), he has recorded career totals of 83 receptions for 1,069 yards with seven touchdowns, returned 14 punts for 149 yards (10.6 avg.) and returned four kickoffs for 94 yards (23.5 avg.). -- New Orleans Saints

In 2021, he led New Orleans in receiving yards and touchdown catches with 46 receptions for 698 yards and six TDs.

Callaway was cut on Tuesday by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to Garland Gillen, Callaway left Pittsburgh's camp and got on a flight to Las Vegas. When he landed in Vegas, his agent told him that he was headed to Saints camp. It's been a whirlwind of a week for the wide receiver.

Wide receivers Cedrick Wilson Jr, Equanimeous St. Brown, Bub Means are all currently nursing injuries. None of them practiced on Friday. Chris Olave has also dealt with a couple of ailments during this offseason.
