New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is a big believer in wide receiver Chris Olave.
Jordan shared his bright outlook for Olave, who was among the bright spots on a New Orleans squad that did not make it to the NFL playoffs in the 2023 campaign.
"That boy Chris Olave is going to give out problems, because he's fast as ...," Jordan told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN .
Fowler also noted that Olave smiled when he heard the praise from Jordan, who is entering his 14th season in the pros.
Olave was heads and shoulders above his fellow receivers in the Saints' passing attack in 2023. That season, he led New Orleans with 1,123 receiving yards with five touchdowns on 87 receptions and 138 targets. Only one other Saints player had more than 700 receiving yards, with Rashid Shaheed coming up with 719 on 75 catches.
Olave, selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, is expected to make another leap in 2024, given that he's now in his third year in the league. He's also shown progress in his first two seasons in the NFL. During his rookie year in 2022, the former Ohio State Buckeyes star had 1,042 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 72 receptions.
Barring injuries, Olave should be able to get at least 1,000 receiving yards again. For one, he is in line to receive more looks with Michael Thomas no longer around in New Orleans.
As for fans online, a lot of them don't seem to be buying Jordan's claim about Olave.
