A van crashed through a Knoxville nursing home facility, leaving one dead and one injured on Monday afternoon. According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the accident happened around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at Accura HealthCare of Knoxville, a nursing home and assisted living facility with 25 locations across Iowa. Pella Christian Graduate Crowned Southern Iowa Fair Queen
A 2024 Pella Christian graduate was crowned as the Mahaska County Fair Queen at the Southern Iowa Fair on Tuesday. Amelia Boender, who graduated from Eagle Lane in May, was chosen as the winner of the Southern Iowa Fair Queen Contest and will represent Mahaska County at the Iowa State Fair in August. Over the course of her four years at Pella Christian High School, Boender served as the president, secretary, and treasurer of the school’s FFA program and participated in cross country, basketball and track and field. Boender said that it was an honor to be crowned the Mahaska County Fair Queen.
