Ward-Beecher planetarium to reopen in October at Youngstown State University
A 2023 fire closed the Ward-Beecher planetarium at Youngstown State University, but after extensive renovation, a grand reopening has been set for the weekend of Oct. 4-5. The renovation included the construction and installation of a new copper roof, dome, carpeting, cove lights and many other improvements as a result of the fire, according to a posting on the YSU website.
