After opening last year, The Noble at 148 Noble St. temporarily shut its doors for a few weeks to modify its concept. Owned by Itir Aloba and Rick Curi , The Noble is set to reopen at the end of this month.

What Now NY connected with owner Rick Curi to learn more about The Noble’s reopening plans.

“We are making some changes to our kitchen program,” said Curi. “The community sees us a wine bar, so we are dialing down our menu to be more in tune with that. We are leaning into the idea that ‘less is more’ and will be modifying our restaurant so people will come in for wine and shared plates.”

Greenpointers reports that one of the most significant changes will be the removal of brunch offerings.

Curi shared that the menu will be shrinking from 12 items down to 8. Fan-favorite items like the sautéed Halloumi cheese and the sea bass crudo will remain. Curi mentioned the addition of new menu items, including a braised lamb dish.

Curi was involved in the opening of Gran Electrica at Dumbo in 2012 and has been involved in restaurant business ever since. Opening The Noble last year was the culmination of years of planning. During this temporary closure, Curi and Aloba are reassessing the dining program and business model of The Noble, aiming to make it more appealing to diners.

“Someone needed to make a charming space here, so I chose to make it my life’s mission,” said Curi. “The Noble is in a great spot where people can come with friends, have some wine, laugh and just have a good time.”
