After hiring Greg Fargo as the team’s new head coach recently, PWHL New York has continued to fill out their coaching staff hiring Josh Sciba as an assistant coach.

“Extremely proud to welcome Josh to the New York family,” said PWHL New York general manager Pascal Daoust. “Beyond his international background, expertise, experiences, and success both as a head coach and assistant, Josh is undoubtedly someone whose energy and values will enhance the already excellent staff in place. Together, our priority will remain to ensure each individual reaches their full potential and the organization achieves its culture and goals of Excellence!”

Sciba is the second NCAA head coach to join PWHL New York’s staff after Fargo, who was the head coach at Colgate was hired earlier this month.

Sciba has been the head coach for Union College at the NCAA D1 level for the past eight season and has been an assistant coach for USA’s national team at the last three World Championships.

“I want to thank Pascal Daoust, Greg Fargo, and the PWHL for granting me an opportunity to be part of PWHL New York,” Sciba said. “I’m excited to coach the best players in the world and I’m eager to help continue the growth and success of the top women’s hockey league in the world. I’m looking forward to building great relationships with our players, our staff and our organization as we strive to win a Walter Cup Championship together. I can’t wait to get started!”
