Fever Coach Christie Sides Claims Aliyah Boston 'In Her Head' Against Former WNBA MVP

The Indiana Fever ended the first half with a narrow lead against the New York Liberty on Saturday.

Neither team has performed very well on offense. While Fever forward Aliyah Boston had 10 points in the first two quarters, Fever coach Christie Sides made it sound like she expected more from her star player.

When Sides was asked about the performance of Boston and fellow forward NaLyssa Smith at halftime, she said, "Jonquel Jones is tough. She's so long, you know, and I think [Aliyah Boston] has missed a couple and it has just really gotten in her head a little bit.

"I need her to keep attacking," Sides added.

Jonquel Jones is one of the Liberty's many star players, and has been matched up against Boston for most of Saturday's showdown.

Jones won the 2021 WNBA MVP Award and also won the 2023 WNBA Commissioner's Cup MVP Award.

Sides' sentiment was strange, considering Boston had an efficient and effective first half.

But she clearly believes Boston needs to be doing more if the Fever are to emerge with a win on Saturday.
