The New York Liberty lost their fourth game of the season in a marquee matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Saturday, dropping their Eastern Conference leading record to 17-4 on the season.

Afterward a a postgame press conference was held with Liberty Coach Sandy Brondello, guard Sabrina Ionescu and guard Betnijah Laney-Hamilton.

Laney-Hamilton found herself in the middle of the press conference with her coach and teammate, but something surprising happened as the five-plus minute postgame press conference video wore on.

The video did not show Laney-Hamilton being asked a single question, even after her stellar 20 points in 38 minutes performance on Saturday vs. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

The look on her face said it all as Laney-Hamilton waited for her coach and teammate to answer their questions.

Laney-Hamilton was given the opportunity to answer a question meant for the entire group, but appeared caught off-guard and did not speak during the entire five-minute press conference video.

Afterward, fans had her back and offered supportive thoughts to the rising star.

"Hamilton thinking, why am I here?" one fan wrote in the comments section about the former Rutgers Scarlet Knight, who is averaging nearly 13 points per game for the first place Liberty this season.

That comment got the ball rolling as other watchers chimed in on YouTube.

"Seriously I feel her..." another fan added, presumably after watching a disinterested Laney-Hamilton awaiting her turn to be asked a question.

"Too bad too, she had a really good game," another reader said.

"Seriously! She played one hell of a game and...nothing?"

Another fan was in an even more combative mood as they took the gathered media to task for ignoring the NY Liberty guard.

"Not a single question! I think it's insensitive, wrong and rude!"

The Liberty are scheduled to take on the 17-4 Connecticut Sun, who are tied for first place with New York, this Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET.
