New York Liberty star guard Sabrina Ionescu became a viral sensation when she competed against NBA legend Steph Curry in a 3-point contest during the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend.

Ionescu is scheduled to competing in the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game this weekend as part of Team USA's Olympic squad.

Considering Ionescu's 3-point prowess, the assumption was she would also take part in the WNBA's 3-point contest.

Yet, when Ionescu was asked about participating in the 3-point contest after Saturday's Liberty win over the Chicago Sky, she said, "I don't know man. My shot's not been that great, so I might have to pass."

WNBA fans were stoked to see Ionescu compete against Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark in the 3-point contest. Now this iconic showdown seems up in the air, and fans aren't happy about it.

"My girl Sab got a nastyyyy 3pt shot. But I wanna see her and CC go head to head in a contest," one fan commented on the @espnw Instagram post.

"Need her and Caitlin to battle," added another.

A third added, "Caitlin Clark affect".

What's for sure is that Clark and Ionescu facing off in a 3-point contest would attract a lot of eyeballs.
