• Gov. Kathy Hochul confirmed this month that New York will not meet its goal of getting 70% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030.
• South and Central American migrant couples, many of whom have been together for years, are rushing to get married at City Hall at the behest of their lawyers, who say they have a better shot at getting asylum if they're married.

• NJ/NY Gotham FC has signed 13-year-old McKenna "Mak" Whitham to a pro contract, making her the National Women's Soccer League's youngest player ever.
