A TWITCH streamer’s livestream has sparked questions after cops stopped his car and pointed a gun at him before the shocking video ended abruptly.

Fans of Roberto Gonzalez, known online as Fanum, are furious at the New York Police Department for seizing the internet personality’s purple Lamborghini Urus .

Fanum, 26, was live streaming on the popular platform Twitch , where he has over 2 million subscribers, as he rode through the Bronx Dominican Parade in New York City on Sunday.

The streamer was in the car with his driver, Walton, and at least two others when a pair of officers stepped in the path of the vehicle, according to footage of the stream.

One cop was shown pointing a gun at Fanum, who was in the passenger seat, as he walked toward the vehicle while a visibly confused Fanum told his friends to record the moment.

“Why you got the gun out?” Fanum asked the cop as the other official was shown speaking into his radio.

The livestream ended abruptly but the aftermath of the stop was shared in videos posted to Fanum’s Snapchat .

Cops were shown putting Walton in handcuffs against the purple car as Fanum and his friends were told to “back up” by other officers who had arrived at the scene.

Video showed a police officer in the drivers seat of the car and appearing to hesitate before starting the car and driving away.

Police told The U.S. Sun that cops stopped the car for driving without any license plates.

“The driver and the vehicle were brought back to the 44 Precinct and the driver was released with a summons for unregistered vehicle,” an NYPD spokesperson said.

It’s unclear why the officers held the group at gunpoint.

Fanum hasn’t shared an update about the incident since the chaotic live stream.

The content creator is known for his NBA 2K content as well as his vlogs and challenges.

The YouTuber formed a content group called AMP, short for Any Means Possible, with fellow streamers Duke Dennis, Agent 00, ImDavisss, and Kai Cenat in 2019.

He’s rocketed to popularity in the years since, with over a million subscribers on Twitch and his YouTube channel JustFanum. He has over 1 million followers on TikTok and 3 million followers on Instagram.

Roberto Gonzalez, better known by his online alias Fanum, is a content creator who rose to fame after he started streaming on Twitch in 2016.

The streamer created his YouTube channel, JustFanum, in May 2017.

He became popular for his content about NBA 2K and his vlogs, where he documented his life in New York City.

Fanum formed a content group called AMP, short for Any Means Possible, with fellow streamers Duke Dennis, Agent 00, ImDavisss, and Kai Cenat in 2019.

He won “Breakout Streamer of the Year” at the 13th Streamy Awards in August 2023 and the award for “Best Role Play Streamer” at the 2023 Streamer Awards.

The social media personality also created the phrase “Fanum Tax,” which is now popular among Gen Alpha.

Fanum tax refers to friends stealing bites of each other’s food because the influencer is known for taking bites of other creators’ food during Twitch streams.

As of July 2024, Fanum has over 2.4 million subscribers on Twitch and 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube.

Video taken before the cops confronted the group shows Fanum and his friends hanging out of the car in the middle of the street with crowds of fans and parade-goers surrounding the streamer.

Fans shared their reactions to the livestream’s events on social media after the sudden ending as some joked that the cops stopped the group because they wanted to drive Fanum’s Lamborghini.

“So they just wanted to drive his car,” one wrote on X.

“What was the reason? I think they just want his car,” another added.

This isn’t the first time that AMP members have gotten in trouble with the NYPD – Kai Cenat was arrested and charged with inciting a riot when he told his 6 million followers to meet him at Union Square for a giveaway last August.

Footage from the scene showed people climbing on top of a hot dog cart and throwing items into the crowd as others ran around the area and interfered with traffic.

Over 2,000 people gathered at the park as chaos broke out, leading cops to make 65 arrests after the NYPD issued a level four mobilization, the highest level of disaster response in the city.
