Cardi B hasn’t seemed to be in the best of moods lately, given her feuds with her peers, delay in releasing her sophomore album, and filing for divorce from Offset . Footage recently surfaced showing her threatening to fight a woman in public in New York City.

The altercation occurred around 1 a.m. last Monday (July 29) in midtown NYC. A resident of an apartment came outside and yelled at people to leave and kicked a Cybertruck in a fit of anger. The Bronx rapper was seated inside a Black SUV wearing a pink tracksuit, leaned out of the window, and said, “I’m recording you bi**h, I’ll f**k you up for real” before the woman eventually headed back inside.

An eyewitness corroborated this story verbatim, telling The New York Post that people gathered outside of their building to take pictures. The tenant who argued with the “Bodak Yellow” artist tried to inform them that they could not be there, which is what sparked their back and forth.

“All of a sudden I heard Cardi B’s voice and I was like, ‘No way is that her,'” the eye witness said. “I turned around to see her and I was like, ‘No way, what the f**k?’ I walked over and I couldn’t believe it was Cardi B.”

This week, a fan page attempted to add more context to the situation. “Since they wanna start narratives, here’s the full video of Cardi B in NYC,” they wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Originally one woman was arguing about driveway, harassing other people and yelling, Cardi B stepped in bc she didn’t like the harasser’s behavior towards others.”

The mother of two, soon to be three , quoted the page and gave her side of the story. “[B**ches] trying to be funny and make this something it’s not but I don’t care,” she wrote. “I don’t like when people think they can bully people for no reason.. like how you gonna do all that yelling, hit their car, AND call the cops all because they taking pictures in front of a building?!”

A popular Hip-Hop fan page posted the video and tried to make it seem like the argument took place after announcing her pregnancy and divorce, but Cardi B pulled up the receipts. She shared a screen recording of a video of the argument from her perspective with the date reading July 28. “Why y’all trying to make me sound bad??” she asked. “This was July 28th and I was defending them but ok,” she wrote with laughing emojis.

PageSix reported that the Grammy winner filed her divorce papers days after this incident on July 31. “They’ve grown apart. That’s what drove her to this decision more than anything else,” a rep from her team told the publication. “This is something she wants to do.” This came after Offset denied his latest cheating rumor, a recurring issue throughout their marriage and multiple almost-divorces. Cardi will be seeking primary custody of their two children Kulture and Wave.
