Julius Randle Congratulates Jalen Brunson on Being Named Knicks Captain

The New York Knicks finished with a top-five seed and were able to make it to the second round of the playoffs, and it was all thanks to the stellar play of their star point guard, Jalen Brunson.

As a result, the team announced today that they were naming him their captain. This makes him the 36th captain in Knicks' history, and the 18th guard to hold the title. His All-Star teammate Julius Randle took to social media to congratulate him.

He kept it short and sweet, and simply said, "Congrats cap, well deserved!!"

Randle missed a good portion of the season due to a shoulder injury that he sustained against the Miami Heat just over halfway through the season, so he was not able to help Brunson in the playoffs.

But this season, Randle will hopefully be able to stay on the court and help the Knicks make it even farther in the postseason than they did last year. The team made a number of big moves this offseason in an effort to contend with the likes of the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference, so they are looking to make some noise.

With Brunson at the helm and Randle backing him up, the Knicks will be looking to contend for a title this season, and hopefully for years to come.
