After his 2024 King Clancy Trophy victory, New York Islanders captain Anders Lee will once again be hosting his annual Kancer Jam.

The King Clancy is awarded to "the NHL player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community."

    Lee to a tee.

The event, which supports Jam Kancer in the Kan , will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 12:30 to   4 p.m. at Northwell Health Ice Center, the team's practice facility.

The hope is that the King Clancy trophy will be at the event.

"'Anders Jam '24' marks the event's second year on Long Island at Northwell Health Ice Center," a release from the foundation said, adding over $155,000 were raised last year. "A Jambassador since 2016, Lee's efforts have helped the Jam Kancer in the Kan foundation raise more than $2,700,000."

Lee began hosting the Kancer Jam in 2017 and has since been an avid supporter of the cause. In addition to raising money, he supports victims and their families, most notably longtime friend Fenov Pierre-Louis, who battled Stage IV neuroblastoma.

Sadly Fenov passed away in 2018, with Lee continuing his work in Fenov's memory.

Lee was asked about what Fenov would think of him winning the King Clancy.

"I think he would have been very proud," Lee said. "I think he would have understood the impact that receiving this reward award has had. To be able to reach more people, to be able to help out more people, and bring a little bit more recognition to our foundation...I'm very proud of this, and I'm very proud of the people that are behind it, like Fenov, like all my teammates, the Islanders' organization, Jamey, and all the people that put in their efforts to make some of these things happen."

In addition to his annual event, he also works with the foundation to award scholarships for students who support those in the fight against cancer.

Registration is now open for a maximum of 32 teams to participate.

"Anders was the very first NHL player to want to stage a Kancer Jam event," founder Jamey Crimmins said. "I was thinking that if we had maybe six or seven of his teammates, we could kind of rotate them in and out and get them to play in the event. We did it after a game in the Barclays Center and every single one of his teammates showed up. And that was an eye-opening experience for me, and we were able to replicate that with other NHL players.

"So the more awareness about Anders and our foundation and Jam Kancer events and how simple it is for us to execute it, the better off we will be be."

Like last year's event, there will be a live auction that will go live around Sept. 7, remaining opening until Sept. 21, or so.

"Lot of Islander memorabilia, jersey, sticks, etc., game tickets, suite tickets, owner suite tickets," Crimmins said. "The NHL has sent us a few other jerseys. We've got a Connor Bedard Hockey Fights Cancer rookie jersey among them. We'll have some other rock and roll kind of memorabilia, and we'll start getting that out and getting that ready by the beginning of September."
