The 27-year Biles posted a video to TikTok on Tuesday after getting ready to be a reserve for the uneven bars — which took place Sunday — and admitted that she’s now running out of steam in what’s been a fruitful and eventful Summer Games.
“I am really tired,” Biles, who did not compete in the event, said. “I feel like my body is slowing starting to shut down, like, it’s ready to be done.”
Biles has only added to her Olympic glory this year, claiming three gold medals (individual all-around, team all-around and vault) while also taking silver in the floor.
She did, however, fall short of a medal in the beam even after a fall, closing out her Olympics with four medals.
Biles revealed on the “Today” show on Tuesday that this Olympics — three years removed the Tokyo Games in which she left the competition early with the “twisties” — she has been seeing a therapist.
“I saw her three or four times throughout this whole entire process and it didn’t matter if it was before the all-around or after qualifications,” Biles said. “I went back to the village and then I got on a call with her and did my therapy sessions.
“It just gave me the confidence and did a lot of visualizations before meets so I just feel comfortable and confident enough to compete. Since it’s part of my daily routine, we don’t want to stop that just because it’s halfway across the world.”
Biles now has seven Olympic gold medals, which ranks her second all-time in women’s gymnastics behind former Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina, who recorded nine.
