Robert Griffin III’s wife, Grete, is focused on positivity after his ESPN firing.

“The category is: Peace & Happiness🖤,” she captioned a Monday post on Instagram, which included photos of the couple smiling while at the 2024 Harold & Carole Pump Foundation gala in Beverly Hills on Aug 16.

Her post came before ESPN added Louis Riddick to its college football coverage on Tuesday, replacing Griffin.

ESPN names Louis Riddick its Robert Griffin III replacement on college football broadcasts

Griffin, who was a college football and NFL analyst across a number of shows, was let go Thursday by ESPN, reportedly for budgetary reasons, along with “Sunday NFL Countdown” host Sam Ponder .

The next day, the Heisman-winning quarterback and Grete, who is a former track & field athlete, attended the gala at the Beverly Hilton, where they appeared in good spirits.

Grete, who posted a few snapshots of herself, looked beautiful in a black dress, which included a plunging halter neckline.

“Holy Moly look at those eyes 😍,” Griffin wrote in the comments, referring to his wife’s blue eyes.

In a separate post on Instagram, Grete explained the couple had experienced a “whirlwind of emotions” amid the firing news.

“We weren’t gonna let anything get in the way of us helping The Harold & Carol The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation raise funds and create awareness for the treatment and cure of cancer,” Grete said.

Mike Greenberg — who currently hosts ESPN’s morning show, “Get Up,” among other special programs — will replace Ponder as the host of “Sunday NFL Countdown,” ESPN announced Tuesday.

Riddick will also call “Monday Night Football” games — when ESPN has two games — in addition to his new role within the network’s college football coverage.

Griffin, who joined ESPN in August 2021 , was added to “Monday Night Countdown” during the 2022 season and had a presence at the Super Bowl, College Football Playoff, Pro Bowl, NFL Draft and Heisman Trophy ceremony.

In 2023, Griffin earned his first Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Personality Emerging On-Air Talent.
