Yet another anti-cop charity is exposed as suspected left-wing fraud

Another day, another group exposed as scamming a nation of guilt-ridden individuals and corporations.

The tentacles of leftism used the tragic death of George Floyd to siphon money from the individually wealthy, corporate public relations departments and emotionally vulnerable in pursuit of social justice.

Brandon Anderson, the founder of Raheem AI, was one of these alleged grifters, making promises that he seemingly never intended to keep.

Armed with a humanizing story of a friend named Raheem, who was supposedly killed by the Oklahoma City Police in 2007, and the fantastical idea of replacing cops with an app, his organization amassed $4.4 million of donations.

Raheem AI’s concept of creating a “Yelp for police” enticed technology-focused charities and huge liberal nonprofits like the Kresge and Annenberg foundations to donate $1.6 million.

But this windfall of cash enriched a man instead of a project, allegedly using that money to pay himself a salary of $160,000, utilizing $46,000 of charity dollars in ride-share services, $80,000 in luxury vacation rentals amongst many more questionable line-item purchases. Anderson denies misusing funds.

Even the foundation of this whimsical organization was reportedly built on a lie, as the Oklahoma state medical examiner confirmed they have no record of any police-involved shooting matching Anderson’s fable.

It doesn’t shock me that outfits like Raheem AI were a scheme to grift donations from big philanthropy, I’m only surprised that there aren’t more that have been uncovered for their inability to produce tangible results and misappropriation of funds.

There may be legitimate issues facing many police departments across the country that are detrimental to the public’s safety and prosperity.

NY conman cleric ‘Father Paul’ used $650K in phony charity donations to fund lavish lifestyle, plastic surgery: feds

One of the most famous organizations, Black Lives Matter, drew heat for spending on a California mansion and insider security contracts rather than its stated causes. Local chapters that share the same name also are accused of misspending.

Meanwhile, Robin DiAngelo, who makes her money shaming white people and wrote a book called “White Fragility,” is now accused of plagiarism .

    Is anyone really surprised?

Of course, the real victims here aren’t usually the corporate donors, who usually gave money as a public relations move.

The real victims are the people who might have benefited from necessary change if the money was placed in caring hands.

And the larger toll is our willingness to take part in future charity projects in fear of becoming a victim of another leftist deception scheme.

There are real people who could benefit from common-sense police reforms, but instead they are patronized by a dogmatic upper-class who are chasing false utopias, or scammed by immoral characters who leverage their pain for gain.

Anderson released that philanthropists were more desperate to show the public how they were on “the right side of history” rather than doing the hard work required to make a real difference.

Will they learn their lesson for next time? Sadly no. Getting nothing in return from leftists is a feature, not a bug.
