It seems only a matter of time until Kiyan Anthony follows in his dad's footsteps to the NBA.

The son of future Hall-of-Famer Carmelo Anthony has been lighting up the summer basketball circuit of late, vaulting up nationwide player rankings for the high school class of 2025.

Entering his senior season at Long Island Lutheran High School, Kiyan Anthony is now considered the top prospect in the state of New York by ESPN.

Miami Heat legend and longtime family friend Dwyane Wade celebrated Anthony's coronation on Instagram, noting the silky smooth, 6-foot-4 guard is a major "problem" for current and future opponents to contain—just like his dad.

Anthony raised eyebrows across the high school basketball and recruiting worlds over the last few months with his much-improved play. He averaged 7.8 points per game on the EYBL circuit , fourth among all players, while also adding 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assist per contest in 2023.

Last week, Anthony narrowed down his NCAA destination to a top-six. Joining Syracuse, Carmelo's alma mater, in that group are Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, USC and Rutgers.

It's naive to assume the younger Anthony will come close to reaching his father's level as an NBA superstar.

But the closer he gets to draft eligibility in 2026, the more likely it's appearing that Kiyan has the god-given scoring chops and developing all-around game to soon carve his own path to the league.
