    Roundup: Pfau sets pace for Granville boys golf on consecutive days

    Samuel Pfau stayed hot Friday, continuing an early-season surge for the Granville boys golf team.

    Pfau fired a 71 at Chapel Hill to tie for runner-up during Mount Vernon's Chapel Hill Invitational. Pfau helped Granville total 317, tying Newark Catholic for seventh place.

    Pfau previously shot a 72 at EagleSticks on Thursday, leading Granville to the team championship during the Circle K Invitational. Pfau's round on Thursday was good for third as the Blue Aces totaled a 309.

    Chase Holtzapple fired a 77 and Alex Organ a 78 for Granville on Thursday. Organ and Brogan Burgett added 81 apiece on Friday.

    Brogan Sullivan's 76 led NC on Friday. Carter Hahn added a 78 and Bobby Kieber 79.

    Archibald paces Johnnies

    Braeden Archibald fired a 72 at Virtues on Wednesday, boosting Johnstown to the team championship during the Licking Valley Invitational as the Johnnies continued their strong start to the season.

    GIRLS GOLF

    Gieseler goes low

    Jacqueline Gieseler recorded a personal-best 80 at Vista View to take third individually for Licking Valley during Tri-Valley's Lady Dawg Invitational.

    Elizabeth Korns added a personal-best 97 for the Panthers, who finished fifth with a 394. Lily Reich's 99 led Licking Heights.

    Watkins takes runner-up

    Watkins Memorial put four players in the 80s and 90s at Blacklick Woods, totaling 360 to take runner-up during the AM wave of Pickerington North’s Lady Panther Invitational.

    Bailey Moyer led the Warriors with 86, and Jacy Severance followed at 88, Hailey Smith 91 and Ella Yost 95.

    Newark Catholic’s Caylee Lattimer shot 80 to tie for sixth, and teammate Samantha Speakman followed with 83.

    On Thursday, Lattimer shot 75 at Cumberland Trail to tie for fifth during the Watkins Memorial Invitational.

    Lakewood's Lauren Griffith followed with an 81 among Licking County competitors, Granville's Ceci Dodd 85 and Molly Montgomery 86, NC's Spearman 87, Lakewood's Emery Lingo 90 and Watkins' Moyer and Smith and NC's Leah Moberg all 93.
