Northridge celebrating stadium opening Monday

A new era of Northridge athletics will be unveiled this week.

The school is hosting a grand opening for its new stadium at 5 p.m. Monday. The stadium located east of the high school will have the twice the capacity, full-service concessions and restrooms and an eight-lane track.

During Monday’s ceremony, the victory bell will be dedicated long-time coach and supporter Jim Hess, who died in 2022. The school also will recognize Isabel Evans for her Division II state championship in the 100 hurdles last June.
