The 68th-annual DFRC Blue-Gold Game brought together the state's best high school football players Friday night at Delaware Stadium.

The Blue team, which was coached by Caravel's John Reed and was made up of players from northern Delaware, won 32-2.

Local players included Makeevis Rogers from Newark; Alexander Ozor from Christiana; Gavin Mason from Glasgow; Trey Hamlin, Bryce McKinnon, Craig Miller, Jordan Miller and Ian Smith from Caravel; Maki Beach and Rikye Jenkins from Hodgson Vo-Tech; and Logan Klein, Jake O'Donoghue and Aiden Zellman from Saint Mark's.

As usual, a highlight of the night was the interaction between the players and their “buddies” in the Hand-to-Hand program, which matches up each player with a child or young adult who has an intellectual disability.
