    Newark man killed in hit-and-run crash in Ogletown

    Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian in Ogletown on July 5.

    The crash happened just before 4:15 p.m. on Salem Church Road, north of Michaels Lane, according to Delaware State Police.

    Michael Daloise, 57, of Newark, was walking north in the right shoulder when a northbound vehicle drifted onto the shoulder and struck him.

    Daloise was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he died.

    The driver fled the scene. He or she was driving a white vehicle of an unknown make and model with possible damage to the front right.
