The New Jersey Devils will kick off their 50th season in Czechia by facing the Buffalo Sabres in the 2024 NHL Global Series presented by Fastenal at the O2 Arena in Prague on Oct. 4 and 5.

When the Devils return to North America, their home opener is against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 10 at 7:00 pm at the Prudential Center.

Outside of the Global Series, New Jersey will play six home games and five away games to kickstart the season, which features four matchups against Metropolitan Division rivals and the Utah Hockey Club's first visit to the Rock.

Interestingly, they have two back-to-backs in the month, with each set featuring a home and away contest: first Utah (Oct. 14) and then Carolina (Oct. 15), followed by Detroit (Oct. 24) and the New York Islanders (Oct. 25).

The opening month concludes with the Devils' annual Western Canada trip, which will take them to Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton from Oct. 30 to Nov. 4.

November will not be easy. There will be three games in Florida in six days: two against the Stanley Cup champion Panthers (Nov. 12 & 14) and then the Tampa Bay Lightning (Nov. 16).

The Devils will also challenge the new-look Nashville Predators (Nov. 25), followed by another home and away back-to-back against Detroit (Nov. 29) and on the road in Washington (Nov. 30).

New Jersey has a busy December with 13 games and only five road contests. However, they face off against the New York Rangers twice and the Hurricanes in the season's only actual home-and-home matchup on Dec. 27 and 28.

At the start of the New Year, the Devils will complete their second West Coast trip of the season, which kicks off in Anaheim on Dec. 31 and concludes in Seattle on Jan. 6, with stops in Los Angeles and San Jose in the middle.

January is also essential, with four Metropolitan Division matchups, including three against the Philadelphia Flyers on Jan. 18, 27, and 29.

New Jersey will play only seven games in February as the NHL breaks for the 4 Nations Face-Off. Of the opponents on the schedule, they will only face Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Montreal, with the remaining games coming against Western Conference opponents.

In the season's final stretch, the Devils got dealt a rough hand with 16 games in 31 days in March. The home and road split is 7-9, with two critical trips through the Central Division to bookend the month.

They open the month on the road in Utah, followed by stops in Vegas and Dallas. Then, to conclude the month, they return to the Midwest with trips to Chicago, Winnipeg, and Minnesota.

The 2024-25 season concludes with six games in April, five of which are home contests. However, depending on the standings, this could be a daunting end to the campaign.

The final six games are against New York (Rangers), Boston, Pittsburgh, New York (Islanders), Boston, and the season finale against Detroit (Apr. 16).

Instead of playing outdoors this season, New Jersey will represent the NHL in the Global Series. Anxious fans will soon see what new head coach Sheldon Keefe can do behind the bench and how the newest free-agent additions can help get the Devils back into the playoffs.
