SHORTSVILLE, NY — The new era of the Red Jacket Cardinals has begun. At the Manchester-Shortsville Board of Education meeting July 2, school district officials announced the approval of its new nickname and mascot, Cardinals, replacing Indians. Cardinals, which received 515 suggestions from students, staff, alumni and community members surveyed, beat out two other options, Rail Hawks and Bears, which received 484 and 146 suggestions, respectively.

SHORTSVILLE, N.Y. – The Board of Education approved a new mascot on Tuesday for the Manchester-Shortsville Central School District, the Red Jacket Cardinals. Following extensive consultation with stakeholders including students, staff, alumni, and community members, the name “Cardinals” emerged as the clear choice recommended by the Rebranding Committee marking a significant milestone in the district’s rebranding efforts mandated by the state of New York.

Request for Qualification for Prequalification of Floating Dock System Manufacturers
The City of Geneva hereby issues this “Request for Qualification” to solicit information from floating dock system manufacturers. The information will be used to pre-qualify a pool of manufacturers from which to solicit bids for the upcoming City of Geneva – Seneca Lake Marina Project. Manufacturers interested in being invited to bid on the aforementioned project must submit a Prequalification Application in response to the RFQ. Manufacturers may submit information for multiple systems that they offer which they feel may be applicable to this project. An opportunity to submit a bid will be sent to manufacturers determined by The City of Geneva to be qualified on the basis of their Prequalification Applications. The City of Geneva intends to prequalify manufacturers in a timely manner and to solicit bids from them for construction of the project shortly thereafter.
