Donald Trump seen with bandaged ear after near miss in failed assassination attempt

Donald Trump has been spotted with a bandaged ear after he was grazed by a bullet in a failed assassination attempt .

The former President was seen coming off his aircraft in Newark Hours later, his right ear clearly bandaged up after the incident but appeared in good health otherwise.

The gunman has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Donald Trump was shot at during a Pennsylvania rally by Crooks, when he climbed into a roof and took aim. The shooter was then killed by security agents.

Posting on Truth Social, the former President said: "It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening."

The rally was thrown into chaos as shots rang out in a shock assassination attempt , causing Trump to duck. Agents quickly covered the 78-year-old, who later stood up bleeding from his face.

Trump updated his followers , stating: "Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening."
