Wingate, N.C. – The off-season accolades for junior outfielder Donovan Ford keep rolling in. His latest achievement came after he earned National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association third team all-American honors.

This is the first time that Ford has earned NCBWA all-American honors in his career. Ford was a American Baseball Coaches’ Association (ABCA) All-American last season.

Ford had a record book writing season as he led the Wolves with a .421 batting average (tied Second in the SAC) and the seventh best in program history. Ford led the South Atlantic Conference with 35 stolen bases which marked the fifth most any Wolf has done in a season in program history. Donovan’s 90 hits, 73 runs, and seven triples marked the third most any Newberry baseball player has had in a season in each category. Ford is currently the all-time leader with a career batting average of .396 and is number two all-time with 91 career stolen bases.
