NEWBERRY – Junior outfielder Donovan Ford earned American Baseball Coaches’ Association (ABCA) first team all-Southeast Region honors.

This is the second straight season that Ford has received first team all-region honors from the ABCA. Ford was also named a third team ABCA All-American last season.

Ford had a record book writing season as he led the Wolves with a .421 batting average (tied Second in the SAC) and the seventh best in program history. Ford led the South Atlantic Conference with 35 stolen bases which marked the fifth most any Wolf has done in a season in program history. Donovan’s 90 hits, 73 runs, and seven triples marked the third most any Newberry baseball player has had in a season in each category. Ford is currently the all-time leader with a career batting average of .396 and is number two all-time with 91 career stolen bases.
