Garbage collection change coming next week

Beginning the week of July 22nd, the City of Folsom Waste and Recycling Division is beginning new collection routes and times. Roseville to crack down on illicit massage activity
ROSEVILLE, Calif. — The Roseville City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to approve an ordinance increasing requirements for massage businesses. According to Roseville, the main reason for updating the municipal code is to address challenges with illicit massage business activity. Of the 150 to 200 massage establishments or independent contractors in the city, about 30 are engaged in illicit massage activity, Community Service Officer Erika Broussard said at the meeting.
Proposed sawmill and wood processing facility near Truckee sparks community response
TRUCKEE, Calif. – A proposed industrial development, including a sawmill and wood processing facility, has elicited concern among local residents. Friends of Prosser Truckee, a group of community members, has formed to address the project, which is set to be located approximately 3.5 miles from the northernmost roundabout heading out of town on Highway 89 North. Technically, Klondike Flat Road is beyond the Town of Truckee boundary line and is in unincorporated Nevada County.
Colfax Council approves grant application for traffic safety plan
The Colfax City Council on July 10 approved a grant application to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Transportation. According to the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) website, the grant program is part of bipartisan infrastructure law that establishes $5 billion in appropriated funds for regional, local and tribal initiatives to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries over a five-year period (2022-26). The website notes there is still more than $3 billion available for future funding rounds.
Rocklin City Council adds appointees to its boards, commission and committees
At the end of June, the Rocklin City Council officially appointed new members to its various boards, commissions and committees. On May 29, the city council conducted interviews with qualified applicants to fill vacancies on the city’s Board of Appeals, Community Recognition Commission and Parks & Recreation Commission. The city council also reviewed requests for reappointment of scheduled vacancies on the Board of Appeals, Community Recognition Commission, Investment Advisory Committee, Parks and Recreation Commission and the Planning Commission.

Historic Folsom reveals winners of 2024 Hometown Parade
Prior to Thursday night’s Summer Twilight Concert Series at the Zittel Family Amphitheater in Historic Folsom, the Folsom Historic District Association announced and recognized the winners of the recent 6th Annual Folsom Hometown Parade that took place on June 29. The naming of the winners routinely takes place during the first Thursday concert following the parade each year.
