    https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2vkzXx_0rQge2b900 Newfolden - Andrew Ryan, of Newfolden, passed away surrounded by his loving family unexpectedly on arrival at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls. Andrew James Ryan was born on September 12, 1985 at Little Falls, son of Steven and LeAnn (Kezar) Ryan. The family moved to Fosston in 1988 where he attended school and graduated with the class of 2004. Andy started working for Arctic Cat the fall of 2004 and was currently employed there at the time of his death. On June 3, 2017 he was united in marriage to Jonette Swanson at Bagley. The couple made their home at rural Newfolden where he took on the responsibility of Dad to Joni’s four girls Bethany, Kaitlyn, Aubrey and Mikayla. Andy enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, playing poker, and he was a handyman. He was always willing to jump in and help family and friends. Family was very important to Andy. Andy is survived by his wife, Joni of Newfolden; daughters, Bethany (fiancé Cameron King) Helmeke, Kaitlyn Helmeke, Aubrey Swanson and Mikayla Swanson; mother, LeAnn Ryan of Fosston; sisters, Christi (Aaron) Zimmerman, of Warroad, Sara (Austin) Walcker, of Fargo, ND; mother and father-in-law, Lorrie (Randy) Nelson of Newfolden; in-laws, Chadrik Swanson of Crookston, Carissa (Kelly Bates) McDougall of Ulen, Nicholas Swanson of Newfolden, Brandon (Ashley) Nelson of Newfolden, Bud (Pascale) Nelson of Newfolden, Tina (Chris) Lambert, Kristin (Brandon) Klade, Kassi (Craig) Redford; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as special brothers, Josh Swenson and Brett Thyng. Andy is preceded in death by his father, Steven Ryan; father-in-law, Irving “Lee” Swanson; godfather, Vernon Aune; grandparents, aunts and uncles. Funeral service for Andrew will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at Poplar Lake Lutheran Cemetery near Fosston. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 5 p.m. until time of prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A00003B2024FB21
