Newport’s New Riff Distilling brought home the gold (and a few other colors too) from the prestigious New Orleans Spirits Competition last week.

The New Orleans Spirits Competition is put on by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation and judges some of the finest spirits and beverages from around the world. Each entry is tasted blind by a panel of industry experts, and winners are awarded at the Tales of the Cocktail conference.

Each of New Riff Distilling’s six entries in the competition received a medal, including two gold, three silver and a bronze. Its 8-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey also won the “Best High Rye Bourbon” category award.

“Team USA isn’t the only one bringing home Gold medals! We're thrilled to announce that New Riff has earned top honors at the New Orleans Spirits Competition!” the distillery shared on Facebook . “We are incredibly proud of these achievements and grateful for the support from our community and customers. Cheers to more great spirits!”

In May, New Riff also won 10 medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition , including a Double Gold — the highest-ranking award — for its 6-Year-Old Malted Rye Whiskey.
