Dozens celebrated Asian American Heritage Month at the Brooklyn Night Market in Industry City.

People of all ages enjoyed a one-of-a-kind night market experience.

Some vendors told News 12 they couldn't be happier to share their Asian culture.

"It's so much community, despite the fact that our cultures are all pretty vastly different it's a huge diaspora," said Leslie Hong, of Kms Imports.

This is the first time that Industry City hosted an Asian American heritage celebration at the Night Market, thanks to the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Hundreds of people showed up to learn about the culture while tasting all they had to offer.

More than 60 vendors were present. They had food pancakes, chicken skewers, clothing and desserts. Residents got a chance to enjoy a different culture. They also had a front row seat to a live performance from a K-pop star.

Many attendees told News 12 the night market is more than just a festival but an opportunity to support and connect with local businesses of all nationalities.

"I'm gyrating it's great energy good family fun and it's all about positive vibes celebrating each other and we're all here at the table to enjoy," said Kathie Lee, executive vice president, chief legal officer, of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Organizers said the night market gave people a chance to support local Asian businesses in the borough.
