Police in Franklin Lakes say five people were arrested and charged in a burglary that occurred early Saturday morning. The suspects and arrests were spread across town and required aid and resources from several local departments. Detectives say the call came in from a Birch Road resident around 4 a.m. who reported two people in her house. When officers found a suspect vehicle outside, it took off and ended up in Wyckoff, according to police. That’s where police say the vehicle overturned on Russell Avenue. Two were arrested there. Police from several departments continued to investigate in Franklin Lakes with drones, dogs and patrols. It was down a nearby road, Glen Place, where the Franklin Lakes police chief spotted and chased after two more suspects on foot. One of them was carrying a gun, according to authorities. Later on, a fifth suspect was arrested on Glen Place after a resident reported an unfamiliar person on her surveillance camera. “It’s very surprising, because, normally, this is a very peaceful and calm neighborhood,” said resident Michael De Marco. “Everybody’s going to be taking precautions now, making sure their cars are locked and their alarms are on.” De Marco says this isn’t the first time this has happened. “One or two years ago, it was a similar thing,” De Marco said. “They broke into the second floor of a house, stole a bunch of purses and jewelry. Unfortunately, it seems like this is becoming more of a normal occurrence here.” Police say they arrested 21-year-old Jahmier Wilson, of Rochelle Park, 27-year-old Rafael Rosario, of Paterson, 18-year-old Shanor Collins, of Paterson, 20-year-old Yazmir Collins, also of Paterson, and 18-year-old Bradly Rosario, of the Bronx, New York. “I definitely commend our police force here, we’re very proud of them,” De Marco said. “They did a great job.” All five suspects were taken to the Bergen County Jail on burglary and eluding charges. Bradly Rosario is also charged with unlawful possession of a handgun. "
