Thankfully we only have to deal with one day of extreme heat this time, but today is absolutely a day to take breaks from outdoor activities because it will feel close to 100 degrees this afternoon and early evening. We do expect most of today to be dry now with just a small passing shower or quick thunderstorm chance after 4 p.m. and through mid-evening. The majority of storms will stay south. After today, much more refreshing air moves in starting tomorrow. I would plan on some off and on rain showers late Saturday and through Sunday ahead of a beautiful Labor Day Monday! NEW : Storm threat is much lower for today now, but an isolated shower or storm cannot completely be ruled out this evening.
