Volunteers in Brooklyn on Monday put teal ribbons on trees to spread awareness for ovarian cancer. The state's Department of Health says that each year, around 1,500 women are diagnosed with this form of cancer. "We have over 30 volunteers helping us go all down Fifth Avenue and Flatbush Avenue to hang these ribbons and to spread the word and tell every amazing lady you know there's no screening test for this disease so the awareness that we can raise is critical to women's health,” said CEO and co-founder of T.E.A.L. Pamela Esposito. September marks National Ovarian Cancer Month across the country. "
